In our Education role, we present unbiased, nonpartisan information to facilitate informed and active participation in government.
At the LWV California Convention in May 2003 the delegates voted for an update of our Education position, last updated in 1985, pending funding. A committee was formed, the scope of the study was adopted by the Board and, in December 2003, funding was received from the Hewlett Foundation.
Local Leagues are holding meetings in Fall 2004 - Spring 2005 in order to reach consensus by May 2005 at the earliest. Leagues should submit all consensus reports by March 11, 2005.
Members: there is more information on the LWV California Members website. If you do not know the URL, please send an email to lwvc@lwvc.org (or consult your local membership directory or contact your local League president).
