In our Voters Service role, we present unbiased, nonpartisan information about elections, the voting process, and issues on the ballot.

DATE EVENT
Fri, August 12 Last day for candidates to file (extended: Aug. 17)
Fri, Sept. 9 Overseas citizens or military can apply for special absentee ballot
Mon, October 10 First day to apply for absentee voter ballot by mail
Tue, October 18 Last day for state to mail Voter Pamphlet
Tue, October 18 Last day for counties to mail Sample Ballot
Mon, October 24 Last day to register to vote on November 8
Tue, October 25 Last day for candidates to file for write-in
Tue, Nov. 1 Last day to apply for absentee voter ballot by mail
Tue, November 8

ELECTION DAY
   Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
   Go to Smart Voter to find your polling location and info about contests (as available)
