MTAs Share Experience
- The MTAs (Management Training
Assistants) met one weekend last October and shared experiences,
problems, and successes in achieving diversity. A few more good MTAs are needed.
Mock Election: Building on Success
- Election 1998 was one of change for the California Parent/Student
Mock Election Project.
The Future of Medicare
- Will Medicare be here for future generations or will it be insolvent
by 2007? This was one of the important questions discussed at a public
dialogue on the future of Medicare held last October.

- It comes as no surprise to Leaguers that one of the most tax efficient
ways to make charitable gifts, including gifts to the League of Women Voters of
California Education Fund, is by will or trust.
New International Relations Group
- An International Relations Committee is
being organized for LWVC calling attention to
recent important international events, including activities
of the United Nations, and to the
work of other Leagues throughout the country
involving international relations.
Two Great Education Events!
- Women's Access to Education will be the topic of Women In Action
Lobby Day, scheduled for Wednesday, April 28, 1999 at the Sacramento
Convention Center.
Student Achievement: What Influences It and
What We Can Do
To Improve It! is the provocative title of EdSource's
annual conference being held March 25 and 26.
