Estate Tax - Your Other Tax Deadline

It comes as no surprise to Leaguers that one of the most tax efficient ways to make charitable gifts, including gifts to the League of Women Voters of California Education Fund, is by will or trust.

Taxation is by its very nature a political issue, and lowering taxes always seems to find its way onto the national political agenda. However, taxation at death--the so-called death or estate tax--has a smaller constituency and generally does not find its way to this agenda.
